Rheumatoid Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

Physicians told Dr. Goldberg as a young man that he would be permanently crippled by severe rheumatoid disease, accompanied by advanced ulcerative colitis, environmental allergies, chronic fatigue and psoriasis (see picture on left). Overcoming Chronic Skin Problems

 A Mirror of Our Internal Environment

Our skin hems us in and contains us, making up an internal universe within which we live. it consists of two layers (epidermis and dermis) over a layer of fatty tissue. It separates and protects us from the outside world yet provides windows for us to communicate through using our senses of smell, touch, hearing and sight. The skin also makes allowances for the outside world to enter and exit us through our gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tracts.

 

Inside the body we are compartmentalized with skin-like linings as well as, with skin-like membranes covering the genito-urinary tract, auditory canals, vagina, urethra, gall bladder, etc.

The skin serves as a means of communication for the nervous system giving us ongoing messages of irritations that might afflict us from the outside world as well as allowing us a multitude of pleasurable sensations. It manufactures coloring (melanin) to protect us from the sun's rays and keeps itself moist by secreting oil. it keeps us from overheating through...
